A charming and colourful Majolica pottery vase from the modern German Bauhaus era, designed in the late 1920s by Eva Zeisel for the Schramberg Majolika Fabrik (SMF) in Germany. Handcrafted in ceramic and hand-painted, the vase features a playful and graphic geometric pattern known as 'Gobelin 4' design. Its surface displays a textured smoky grey background adorned with vibrant diagonal stripes in blue, yellow, red, and green. The result is a lattice pattern reminiscent of Gobelin tapestries. This piece is a beautiful example of the Bauhaus period, with its emphasis on angularity and clean lines, while also reflecting Art Deco influences. This vase is an early work by the young designer of the time for Schramberg. It remains in very good condition, with no damage.
