A pair of armchairs, a magnificent work by Alfred Christensen. Beautifully shaped headrest with brass feet. Original upholstery in good condition, normal signs of age and wear. Some losses on the wood veneer. About the designer: In 1936, Christensen joined Knoll as a designer and worked closely with Florence Knoll, with whom he created modern, elegant, and timeless furniture. The Barcelona chair is one of his most famous designs, created with Ludwig Mies van der Rohe for the 1929 International Exposition in Barcelona. Christensen left Knoll in 1957 to work as an independent designer. His creations continue to be appreciated for their timeless elegance, high quality, and wonderful craftsmanship.
