Mr. Impossible is an armchair designed for Kartell by Philippe Starck in 2008. Very comfortable, it has an enveloping shape and almost seems to float in the air, thanks to the four transparent legs and the circular hollow stem, on which rests a seat with different colored supports. Suitable for both private and contract use, it is a highly innovative piece of furniture. In fact, it stems from the seemingly impossible idea of joining two oval polycarbonate bodies without using glue. The aesthetic effect is remarkable and capable of distorting the perception of the material. The two bodies, laser-welded, give the chair a two-tone yet three-dimensional appearance. The Mr. Impossible armchair by Kartell is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use and is resistant to shocks and atmospheric agents. It comes from an advanced plastic processing technology, which involves laser welding. Designer: Philippe Starck with Eugeni Quitllet. Dimensions: H84 W55 D54. Weight: 5.5 kg. 2 in good condition and 2 requiring restoration.
