Cabin trunk dating from the 1940s-1950s, recently renovated. These trunks were used at the time for transatlantic travel. This one belonged to the parisian collector couple fischof-la foux. Beech wood structure (plywood and strapping) glued canvas repainted in brown and beige, protected by a colorless varnish (some defects on the canvas related to the handling of the trunk at the time) 2 beautiful brass clasps with the hallmark of the hardware store "compagnie des clous au soleil" (wholesale of trunk jewelry from 1910 to 1960) central clasp and corner in nickel-plated brass (one corner missing and some may be deformed or patinated) - brushed steel studding. New leather handles and jute strap. Interior in beige/pale yellow fabric, original and in relatively good condition (3 adhesives were applied to reinforce the fabric) with 1 removable frame (some halos). Exterior completely renovated. Ideal as a storage chest, decoration, coffee table, etc.
