Black leather footstool with curved legs – vintage
A characterful leather footstool (also called a pouffe or stool) with a domed upholstered seat in black leather. The seat is finished with braided decorative stitching and a border of decorative nails. The black lacquered wooden base stands on elegantly curved legs, joined on the long side by a turned stretcher. The leather has a wonderful, well-worn look with craquelure and light wear – exactly the kind of patina you cannot fake. The shape is robust and elegant at the same time. Lovely with an armchair or Chesterfield, in a classic, industrial or eclectic interior. Can also be used as a side table or extra seat. Used and sturdy. The leather shows clear craquelure, scratches and slight discolouration, but no tears. The lacquer on the base is worn on the edges and legs; a seam in the wood is visible at the short end.
