We are delighted to offer for sale this magnificent tufted Chesterfield bench covered in heritage green leather, dating from the late Victorian era around 1900. An elegant, well-made, and decorative stool, featuring new deep green leather with a crinkled aged finish. The structure resembles a Biedermeier harp on the sides. In terms of condition, there are some age-related patina marks and visible stains on one side. The stool has been meticulously cleaned, waxed, and hand-polished. The base can be restored with a full French finish at cost if the new buyer wishes. Dimensions (at widest point): height 63 cm, width 102 cm, depth 46 cm. Please note that the original leather has a natural patina in the form of creases and wear; we recommend annual waxing to prevent moisture loss. It is also advised not to expose the hand-dyed leather to direct sunlight for long periods to avoid drying and discolouration.
