Julio le parc, born in 1928 in argentina, is an argentine sculptor and painter of contemporary art. He settled in paris in 1958. He became a naturalized french citizen in the 1980s. Julio le parc's work spans painting, sculpture, installations… he manipulates chromatic color palettes, negative space, and subtle plays of light and shadow. Le parc has embraced utopian ideals throughout his work. In 1978, the bbc in london produced a documentary on his life and work. In 1987, he won first prize at the cuenca international biennial in ecuador. Le parc has exhibited in new york, london, paris, buenos aires, hong kong, são paulo, and rome.
