Teak wood and Mazzega style glass pendant lamp

A striking vintage pendant light combining sculptural glass and linseed oil treated teak wood. Linseed oil is the most natural and organic form of treating the wood. The lamp has an unusual two-tone glass shade: an opaque/frosted upper section transitions into a substantial clear glass lower section with pronounced moulded details. Viewed from underneath, the clear glass reveals a radial structure around a warm amber-coloured central detail. The glass is paired with turned wooden components at both the top of the shade and the lower counterweight.  Its combination of organic wood, moulded glass and simple metalwork is characteristic of the mid-century modern / Space Age aesthetic.
