Small hand-blown glass candlestick by Swedish designer Erik Höglund. A true creation of Mid-Century Modern Scandinavian design, this candlestick illustrates the Swedish glass art of the 1950s-1960s. Candlesticks are appreciated by many Nordic households where the cold season is long and where there is a way of life (hygge among the Danes and lagom among the Swedes) that values what brings well-being and comfort, the simple pleasures of everyday life, creating harmony between home design and nature. The round glass part features a lovely blue, and the glow of the candle is enhanced by the slightly frosted glass dish. This candlestick is in very good vintage condition, the metal part is slightly patinated, and the glass is absolutely intact. Engraved Boda underneath and retaining its label from the Association of Craftsmen of Kalmar County.
