Description
Mid-century modern murano sommerso glass bowl by flavio poli (italy, 1960s). Made of thick blue and yellow glass. Extremely decorative. Quite heavy (1.4 kg). Perfectly works as a small bowl, vide poche/catch-all or as an ashtray. Can be used as a display piece on any table. Height: 7 cm; width: 17 cm; depth: 15 cm. Very good vintage condition. Some minor tiny air bubbles within the glass and barely visible flea bites. "sommerso" (italian for ''submerged'') is a technique developed in murano in the 1930s which became very popular in the 1950s/60s. The result is a glass with contrasting colours that is commonly caused by a clear layer.
