This pair of glazed earthenware bookends depicts two seated young Bigoudins. They are in superb condition; we note a small chip on the young man's hat. Berthe Savigny (1882-1958) was a French sculptor and painter. Her works mainly consisted of babies and ceramic statues. In 1927, the Grande Maison HB in Quimper produced several of her creations. Berthe Savigny's works, imbued with sensitivity and tenderness, were an immediate success, a success that continues today. Our photos allow you to appreciate the quality of the item.
