Peter Hvidt Minerva Sofa Bed France & Daverkosen drawing 1960s

Minerva sofa bed by Peter Hvidt|France & Daverkosen|Teak, 1950s. We offer an original Minerva sofa bed designed by Peter Hvidt and Orla Mølgaard-Nielsen for France & Daverkosen (Denmark). Created in the 1950s, the Minerva is an essential classic of modern Danish design. It combines a minimalist Scandinavian aesthetic with a particularly light and delicate structure. Its frame is made of teak and rests on four slender, tapered legs. The openwork teak backrest, connected to the frame by metal spacers, is a distinctive feature. The seat is equipped with the typical spring suspension of this model. By removing the back cushion, the sofa transforms into a daybed. The cushions are covered in high-quality green-grey wool fabric. Its discreet colour harmonises beautifully with the warmth of the teak and highlights the Scandinavian character of this piece of furniture. This sofa bed is in very good overall condition, reflecting its age and care. The wood shows some light signs of wear. The original manufacturer's plate, France & Daverkosen, is present and visible in the photos. Design: Peter Hvidt & Orla Mølgaard-Nielsen. Model: Minerva. Manufacturer: France & Daverkosen.
