French Art Deco furniture in oak with a marble top, circa 1930.
A distinctive French Art Deco piece dating from around 1930, made of richly grained oak and topped with a beautifully veined dark marble slab. Its tall, compact design combines decorative character with practical storage. The front features two pairs of cupboard doors, a central drawer, and a drop-down compartment that opens to create a useful writing or serving surface. Each door is adorned with deeply carved interwoven geometric patterns, giving the piece a strong architectural presence. The original brass hardware with floral details complements the warm hue of the oak, while the rounded upper corners and tapered base enhance its characteristic Art Deco silhouette. The piece is in good vintage condition with signs of age-related wear, a patina, and visible natural movements of the wood. Several age-related splits and open joints are present, particularly on the upper door of the piece and beneath the marble top. These are consistent with the age of the item and do not affect its functionality. A versatile piece, ideal as a bar cabinet, small writing desk, storage unit, or decorative entrance furniture. Origin: France. Period: circa 1930. Material: oak, brass, and marble. Condition: good vintage condition with age-related wear, patina, splits, and open joints. Dimensions: H 137 × W 56 × D 46 cm.
