Art Deco bar cabinet Hoffmann Chaleyssin 1940

Vintage storage unit or Art Deco bar cabinet from the 1940s, in the style of Josef Hoffmann or Francisque Chaleyssin. We love the overall design, its compact shape, the doors with graphic square details in the centre, and the well-designed legs that rest on spheres, giving a beautiful look between the bottom of the legs and the top of the unit. The doors ingeniously slide inwards for a significant space-saving when opened. There are two levels of storage inside, all covered in a burgundy lacquer paint. The top features a folding opening system, with a wooden handle button. The body of the unit is made of lightly cerused solid oak. Overall good condition, with some defects possibly present in the wood, a few wood jumps, marks, and minor defects on the door hinges. - Total dimensions - W 90 X D 46 X H 124 cm.
