Mountain furniture made of solid wood, a popular work from the 19th century. It opens with a single door and consists of an open niche at the top as well as a second storage space at the bottom. The interior is fitted with two thick shelves made of old wood. Its rustic construction, forged fittings, irregular boards, and deep patina testify to a raw and naive craftsmanship. The asymmetry of its façade and the simplicity of its lines give it a unique presence, straddling vernacular furniture and utilitarian sculpture. The piece shows numerous signs of age, past restorations, and modifications for use. Notably, it retains a small trapdoor at the back providing access to the interior, the original function of which remains unknown. This particularity fully contributes to the charm and history of the piece. An authentic piece of folk art, ideal for lovers of mountain furniture and beautiful patinas. Dimensions: H 120 × W 72 × D 38 cm.
