Originally designed in 1947, these lamps are early works of jørn utzon, the architect that would later go on to redefine the sydney skyline with the now infamous opera house. The inspiration behind these lamps comes from the maritime roots of his hometown, copenhagen, denmark. It doesn't take much imagination to see how this design is influenced by the ships, smokestacks, and bridges lining the copenhagen harbour in the middle of the 20th century. These lamps were originally produced by nordisk solar under the name "tivoli pendant" until being reintroduced as the "p254" to avoid copyright issues with the tivoli gardens amusement park in central copenhagen. These lamps are made of four joined pieces arranged to provide a balance between spot lighting and a warm ambient lighting reflecting off the gold and white leaves. These lamps are sold as a pair and are in excellent condition with no visible scratches, dents, or warping. These lamps takes 100w max e27 light bulb and features and is fitted with 2 meters of electrical cord ready to be installed. Wiring and lightbulb socket is universally compatible. Ceiling cover sold separately. Shipped from copenhagen, denmark in triple-ply corrugated cardboard box for extra security. I would gladly combine items to save on shipping.
