An impressive 27 cm wide Tridacna shell trinket tray on a silver-plated metal base dating from the late 19th century, with intricate decoration. The base is adorned with raised griffins and stylized motifs, typical of the ornamentation of this period. An exceptional collector's item, ideal for displaying jewelry, enhancing an interior, or serving as the centerpiece of a cabinet of curiosities. Very good overall condition: the base displays a harmonious patina, with some normal signs of age. Holy water font width: 27 cm. Holy water font height: 20 cm. Holy water font depth: 18 cm. Height of base: 12 cm. Foot base diameter: 10 cm. Weight: 1.7 kg. This holy water font is antique, from a private collection dating back to before 1970. I mention this because these shells are now protected and must be preserved.
