Centrepiece bowl LA MERIDIANA (Italy), 1960s. The blown glass bowl in shades of green rests on a silvered metal base. Its shape, with soft and undulating lines, evokes a fully blossomed flower or the movement of a wave. Depending on the light, the glass reveals very different shades, ranging from a delicate almost translucent aquamarine to a deep and intense green. This play of light gives it a presence that is always different depending on where it is displayed. From different angles, its silhouette seems to transform, revealing a different aspect from each viewpoint. The base is decorated with three young children surrounded by clusters of grapes and foliage. This decoration takes up a classic theme of Italian decorative art, inspired by scenes of abundance and nature. This bowl can be used as a centrepiece, decorative bowl, or simply as a decorative object. The original label "LA MERIDIANA – Made in Italy" is still present. Characteristics. Manufacturer: LA MERIDIANA Origin: Italy. Period: 1960s. Materials: blown glass and silvered metal. Diameter: 20.5 cm. Height: 14.5 cm. Condition. In very good condition. The glass shows no chips or cracks. A few fine bubbles, characteristic of blown glass, are visible. A very discreet manufacturing line appears only under certain lighting on the underside. The base shows a slight patina of use as well as a tiny loss of finish under the base, which is hardly visible once the piece is installed.
