Description of form and sculpture. Hall wardrobe with two doors, characteristic of the Danzig (Gdańsk) style. The architectural volume is crowned by a moulded cornice with projections. At the centre of the cornice is a heraldic cartouche sculpted with a crown motif, supported by two putti, with an eagle sculpture at its base. The front of the piece, including the pilasters and the door frame, is covered with baroque-style carvings of acanthus scrolls, flowers, and birds. A sculpted putto is present at the centre of each pilaster. The lower part of the base incorporates two functional drawers with sculpted geometric fronts. The entire piece rests on five turned ball feet: three at the front and two at the back. History of modifications and structural characteristics. The piece shows signs of 19th-century carpentry modifications made to adapt it to the usage needs of the time. In the mid-19th century, the body of the wardrobe was deepened, which is visible in the side profile of the piece. During this work, the door leaves were reversed to install a new lock. This lock (later than the 18th-century structure) features a pierced steel plate engraved with the date "1854". The interior of the piece is equipped with three rows of stable shelves. The wardrobe can be completely disassembled into 6 distinct elements, facilitating transport and installation in restricted access spaces. Condition. Piece after a complete conservative restoration. Structurally stable, all elements are intact.
