The Icon of Cantilever Design. Selling a beautiful set of 8 S32 chairs, designed by Marcel Breuer for Thonet. Iconic pieces of modernism (Bauhaus), they elegantly combine a chrome tubular steel structure with traditional work in black beech and caning. Certified Authenticity. This series is authentic and bears the official markings of the publisher under each chair (see photos): • Original label on the structure: Thonet Frankenberg (reference D 3558). • Thonet stamp engraved directly into the wooden structure under the seat. Condition & Patina. • Caning: A highlight of this series, the natural caning is healthy, new, well-tensioned, and without any broken strands across all 8 seats and backs. • Structure: The chrome steel retains a beautiful shine. Please note, as is often the case with vintage editions, there are localized signs of oxidation (notably on the legs and curves). These marks of time testify to the history of the pieces without compromising their sturdiness. • Wood: Black-stained beech in good condition, showing slight signs of use consistent with their age (approximately 45 years).
