Impressionist painting, oil on wood, 19th century - Signed marine

Hello. I am offering a work with rare and astonishing colors. These are two vertical wooden panels that belonged to a 19th century bourgeois house and were used to decorate two doors. These two separate panels were joined on a single panel to form a diptych (very rare in the 19th century) for a visual rendering transformed into a landscape format. These two oils on wood represent a departure and a return from fishing on the Breton coast. This subject has often inspired many painters for 2 centuries but more rarely in a nocturnal atmosphere. Two very distinct halves are represented: a calm sea and a sky that promises to be stormy, thus forming a paradoxical atmosphere. The whole is of a great depth that is almost captivating and forces the eye. When we take the time to contemplate this painting, an impression of immersion gradually appears and inspires respect for the sailors. Dimensions of the work with its framing strips: length 80 cm X height 76 cm. These two oils on wood are in perfect condition for old works. They have been completely cleaned, devarnished by a professional and then an anti-UV satin varnish has been applied. The whole thing has become a diptych on wood in the style of the diptychs of the Renaissance and Baroque periods. The choice of a frame of rounded baguettes allows to further highlight the atypical aspect of this work. These two paintings are signed by a talented painter to discover. On the back of the painting, 3 iron wires connected together ensure the robustness of the frame.
