This rare set of twelve stainless steel and bouclé wool chairs was designed by french designer paul legeard in 1970. The geometric structure formed from curved steel blades supports the seat cushion and backrest, both reupholstered in a beige bouclé wool fabric by dedar. Paul legeard's art deco and modernist influence is evident in the strong lines of the steel frame and the elegant character of his seats. These chairs are very rare and have been completely restored and reupholstered. Paul legeard (1901 - 1991) was a french furniture manufacturer. He began his design career in the 1930s at baccarat, the flagship french glassmaker. Inspired by modernist principles and the art deco movement, his style became synonymous with understated sophistication. Légeard's innovative creations earned him prestigious awards, including the grand prix at the milan triennale in 1954.
