Plate KG Lunéville fisherman blue decoration

Flat plate made of fine Lunéville earthenware, decorated with a scene of a fisherman rendered in shades of blue. The character, wearing a wide Asian hat, is set against a backdrop of stylised vegetation inspired by the décor of the Far East that influenced tableware in the 20th century. The scalloped border, highlighted with a painted cobalt blue line, features light floral motifs that elegantly balance the composition. Stamped KG Lunéville – Special grand feu. In beautiful vintage condition, with a very shiny glaze (see photos). Diameter 25.5 cm. A graphic presence that far exceeds the art of the table.
