Very beautiful traditional painting, typical of mexican craftsmanship, bright colors, made by hand on the mexican papyrus, called amate, paper made with the bark of some fig trees. It dates back to the 60s or 70s, when these works of art were the essential memories that were brought back from mexico. Often they were of a smaller format, this one is really big. The colors, still beautiful, and the birds and flowers bring cheerfulness into the house, and attract the eye for sure. It is framed (frame in khaki brown wood and transparent plastic, equipped on the back with a metal wire to hang it on the wall). The work is in perfect condition. What might pass for discolorations or marks in some photos, are just reflections that I have not managed to avoid by taking the photos in natural light. The frame has some scratches, not too visible, on the plastic and some marks and scratches on the wood. The white background paper under the amate is slightly curled in places. The frame measures 78 cm by 58 cm for a thickness of 1.5 cm. The painting measures 59 cm by 39 cm. The whole weighs 2.15 kg. Another painting on amate, just as large but with different décor, is available in my shop.
