Rare mid-20th century modern side table and magazine rack from the TM series, designed by Cees Braakman for Pastoe in 1955. This table features a minimalist and ingenious Dutch design, with a enameled steel base and a birch plywood top. Marked underneath the top. Cees Braakman, a renowned Dutch furniture designer, was known for his innovative and functional creations from the mid-20th century. As the design director at Pastoe from 1948, he introduced new materials and manufacturing techniques, such as moulded plywood and metal tubes, and created customizable modular furniture. His work remains a reference point and is highly sought after by collectors and design enthusiasts. Professionally restored, it shows two visible repairs upon close inspection.
