Large oil painting on canvas measuring 2m X 1.50m depicting a lively landscape by Charles Louis Verboeckhoven (1802-1889). The work is in perfect condition and ready to hang. It is one of a pair sold separately. Charles Louis Verboeckhoven, influenced by his sculptor father and his animal painter brother, specialized in marine painting and landscapes. He exhibited at numerous salons and achieved immediate success. His style became more realistic after 1842, with more vibrant colors. Many of his works depict now-vanished ports along the Scheldt.
