"Female Torso Handle" in patinated bronze
A female torso in the manner of an antique fragment, scaled down to the size of a hand. A new piece, created and made to order in our Paris workshop. The Venetian Torso is inspired by the nude of Venetian Renaissance, that of Titian: full curves, softened transitions, a surface on which light glides without catching. Shoulders and hips are left raw, like those marbles that we love precisely for what they lack. It is not a motif placed on a handle; it is a small sculpture that serves as a knob. An Immersed Bronze patina: a very light bronze, as if retrieved from two thousand years of the Mediterranean. Powder blue in the depths of the hollows, water green on the reliefs, edges veiled in white. The bronze is only discernible in transparency. It is a living patina, applied by hand: it evolves gently over time, and each piece has its own nuances. Cold cast bronze, sanded and patinated by hand in Paris. To be reserved for the furniture one wishes to showcase: buffet door, central drawer of a chest of drawers, entrance wardrobe. It blends into light and matte facades (lime white, linen, blonde wood), harmonises tonally with sage green or blue-grey, and becomes precious against a matte black or deep blue. Made to order: 5 to 10 days before shipping. It is available in other sizes and patinas: do not hesitate to write to us.
