Vintage stove lawson 1922 green. Lawson establishments is an offshoot of an old and very successful company, the lawson manufacturing company, established in homestead, pennsylvania in 1901. They also had a famous digital clock factory, lawson clocks limited, whose history can be traced. The lawson manufacturing company manufactured (among others) gas water heaters, radiators and stoves in the usa. Business was good, so in 1914 lawson built a larger factory in nearby pittsburgh. In the 1920s, after the first world war, like many american companies, lawson flourished and tried to conquer europe by setting up stores in london and paris, through the "société des etablissements lawson", at 31 rue de chabrol, paris, 75010, in particular. As for the petroleum or gasoline gas stoves, it seems more than likely that the lawson stoves were built in georges roux's premises in cusset. Lawson-stamped stoves are actually renamed emé. They lost the émé logo on the burners and the enamelled cast iron carcass. They just added a lawson plaque to the tank.
