This Radiaver lamp was originally a radiator with a lamp in the base. It was the first electric radiator invented by French engineer René Coulon for the glass manufacturer Saint Gobain and presented at the Paris Industrial Exhibition in 1937. The heating system using the metal strips at the top was a revolutionary invention. These lamps were produced until 1952, and this particularly beautiful model is displayed in museums such as the Centre Pompidou and the Smithsonian Institute. The lamp is composed of two tempered glass plates with a thick molded glass base where the lamp has been replaced, fitted with a new standard bulb holder and wire. The radiator is no longer functional. There are two small steel rings at the top for easy movement around the house. It is in excellent vintage condition and, of course, in working order. A very strong piece, perfect for an industrial-style space, and many others. Dimensions: Length 43 cm, Width 13 cm, Height 58 cm.
