Pair of Frosta Ikea stools in black

Frosta was designed by Gillis Lundgren (1929–2016). Lundgren joined IKEA in 1954 and became one of the company's most important designers and strategists. He was one of the people who fundamentally shaped IKEA's design philosophy. The FROSTA is essentially IKEA's interpretation of the famous Stool 60 by Alvar Aalto, originally designed in 1933 for Finnish company Artek. The interesting thing about FROSTA is the bent plywood leg technology. IKEA itself still describes FROSTA as a birch-plywood stool with bent legs, and notes that it is lightweight and stackable. The pair or stools offered here originally had red painted seats. This version of the stool was manufactured by IKEA in 2015-2016. The veneer seats have been restored and the chairs painted glossy black. Now they are ready for your modern or vintage space! Dimensions: Height: 45 cm. Seat diameter: 35 cm.
