Alvar Aalto stool

Width – 35 cm. Depth – 35 cm. Seat height – 45 cm. In original condition, but the black paint is chipped. Stool by the Finnish designer, architect, and urban planner Alvar Aalto (1898-1976), made of bent plywood, his preferred material. This is the stackable model no. 60, designed in the 1930s for the Viipuri Library. This is a later edition, from the 1960s, with a lovely natural patina. Purchased at auction with authentication by the auctioneer.
