Eileen Gray re-edition lounge fauteuil ‘1927 Transat’ by Ecart International

The 1927 transat chair was used as a deck chair at the famous villa e 1027 at roquebrune menton. It was originally registered under the name “transat” by eileen gray and jean badovici in 1927. The name transat was used as an abbreviation for transatlantic referring to steamship travel and the deck chairs commonly used on such ships. The transat chair has become one of eileen gray’s most enduring and signature pieces. This piece is in excellent condition consistent with age and use.
