Danish modernism, rocking chair by Illum Wikkelsø for N. Eilersen, Denmark, 1960s

Elegant rocking chair designed by Illum Wikkelsø and manufactured by N. Eilersen in Denmark in the 1960s. This chair embodies Wikkelsø's characteristic balance between organic forms and functional comfort, with its sculptural frame in stained beech, graceful rocking skids, and finely crafted spindles on the backrest. The chair has been recently reupholstered in soft, light lambswool, creating a warm contrast with the rich tones of the wood while enhancing its inviting appearance. The curved armrests and slightly inclined backrest provide excellent seating comfort, making it an ideal seat for both relaxation and everyday use. This beautiful rocking chair will harmonise with many interior styles, including Vintage, Antique, Classic, Scandinavian, Modern, or Art Deco.
