In 1977, Philippe Starck created the John Ild model, considered Starck's first bookcase design. Its name pays homage to a character from the novel Ubik, written by Philip K. Dick, who is very present in Starck's work. The structure of the bookcase is composed of two uprights in black metal tube. These uprights can be simply placed against a wall and serve as a support for five black shelves held by cables. A lack on one of the lower ends does not threaten the stability of the whole. Disform edition from 1982. No marking but well-documented piece in the history of design
