A charming and elegant Chiavari chair in Hollywood Regency style from the 1950s. The design is based on the original creation from the 19th century by Giuseppe Gaetano Descalzi from the Italian town of Chiavari. This distinctive chair is made of polished solid brass, with a high back that resembles a crown or bat wings — hence its frequent nickname of "bat chair." Originally designed as a ballroom chair, it is very versatile and can be used as a dining chair, accent chair, office chair, or even as a statement piece in a bathroom or vanity space. The chair is in generally good condition. The brass still retains its shine, with a charming patina on the front right leg considered non-distracting. The seat has been reupholstered with luxurious Italian fabric featuring a gold-beige and black floral leaf pattern.
