Refined chest of drawers, model 34, designed by Kai Kristiansen and produced by Aksel Kjersgaard in Denmark in the 1960s. It is a fine example of Danish modern design, where craftsmanship, material quality and elegant restraint come together seamlessly. Executed in beautifully figured rosewood, the cabinet displays rich, deep tones and expressive grain patterns that flow continuously across the drawer fronts and sides. The sculpted drawer pulls are subtly integrated into the fronts, emphasizing the horizontal lines and creating a clean, uninterrupted façade. Raised on slender, slightly tapered legs, the chest has a light and architectural presence despite its compact size. The proportions are carefully balanced and the precise joinery and sharp detailing reflect the high standards associated with Aksel Kjersgaard’s workshop.
