The Moser vase from the 1930s is an object created in Karlovy Vary (Karlsbad), the heart of Czech glassmaking. Made of thick, faceted crystal in a warm, honey-amber hue, it attracts attention with its mass and clarity. The vase's form—a truncated cone narrowing upwards—emphasises the typical Art Deco dialogue between strength of form and decorativeness. Across the width of the central part runs a raised decorative frieze: a band of oroplastic, I.e. Matte gold, onto which embossed, relief representations of classical figures and ornamental motifs have been applied. The glass surface is shiny and smooth, the cuts clearly define the boundaries of the facets. The gilding contrasts with the transparency of the crystal and highlights the care of workmanship—the details are clear, and the whole is in excellent condition, with no visible damage or signs of restoration. The edges and frieze show minimal signs of age, confirming careful storage over the decades. This is a vase that tells the story of an era of optimism and precision—it speaks with the voice of the 1930s, when Art Deco sought a balance between the luxury of craftsmanship and machine geometry. The faceted planes reflect light like a polished amber surface, and the oroplastic band recalls a time when gold was not just decoration, but a symbol of status and artistic skill. The vase seems to wink at the viewer: 'I remember interiors where light danced on the parquet, and details were as important as space.' Displayed on a walnut chest of drawers or a glass coffee table, the vase can be paired with minimalist, modernist ceramics or a single branch. It looks good both solo in a collector's space and in period arrangements—next to a veneered dressing table, a geometric mirror or against a subtly lit wall. Art Deco, mid-century or eclectic vintage living rooms will allow it to shine best—combine it with brass details or dark wood to emphasise the colours and motifs of the golden frieze.
