French school (attributed to Narcisse Díaz, 1807-1876) Roses and pomegranates against a blue sky. Circa 1860. Oil on panel. 14.5 X 20.5 cm. Hole at the top centre. A still life from the Romantic period where the roses and pomegranates are viewed from a "di sotto in sù" perspective next to a stream against a blue sky. The quality of the brushwork is exceptional, and although the work is unsigned, the style suggests Narcisse Díaz (1807-1876).
