330 X 280 stucco frame. Oil on wood panel: 240 X 190. Flower composition. Ideally to be restored. Pierre morain (1821-1893) is a painter on the benezit side and exhibited in museums. Wikipedia source: pierre morain entered the paris school of fine arts in 1848 in thomas couture's studio. He exhibited portraits at the salons of 1849, 1855 and 1857. He made copies of religious paintings commissioned by the state: a descent of the cross after jouvenet (preserved in paris at the louvre museum) for the church of morannes, and a descent of the cross after pierre-paul rubens (made in antwerp in 1852) for the cathedral of saint-maurice d'angers. After his marriage in cheffes (maine and loire), he set up a workshop in his family property in grandines. There he made many still lifes (fruit, game) that earned him his success.
