Oil on wood titled "maison en brière" and signed by the nazairien painter emile gautier (1920-2013). Considered the painter of brière and in love with the breton coast, gautier began his career at a very young age by exhibiting his paintings at the age of 18. Drawing teacher, museum director or shipyard designer, all his life emile gautier will draw his inspiration mainly from these coastal regions. This work represents a small traditional house in brière. This briéronne cottage has a thatched roof and white dry stone walls. The small yard contains a few chickens pecking near a pile of hay.
