Refined round service or presentation tray in engraved mirror, attributed to the work of Venetian/Murano glassmakers from the 1940s-1950s. The mirrored base is delicately engraved with a pastoral scene featuring a couple in a wooded landscape with elements of baroque architecture. It is bordered by a spectacular twisted two-tone glass rim (clear crystal and bright red thread) and equipped with two ornate handles in gilded brass. The underside is protected by its original wooden plate. An exceptional piece to add a Hollywood Regency or Italian boudoir touch to a coffee table or chest of drawers. Period: Circa 1940 – 1950. Technique: Acid-etched/sandblasted mirror, hot-twisted Murano glass (torciglione), brass mount. Condition: Very good overall condition considering its age. Natural oxidation and patina on the mirror in places (visible on the engraving, adding authentic charm). Twisted glass intact, handles well secured, original wooden base well preserved. Type of object: Service tray / Presentation tray / Catch-all tray. Materials: Glass, mirror, brass/gilded metal, wooden base. Colours: Silvered mirror, red & clear glass, gilded brass. Shape: Round with handles.
