Pyrite stoneware pitcher with thistle decoration signed Suzanne Dauliach 70s Born from the imagination of the ceramist Suzanne Dauliach (born in the 20th century), this pitcher signed under the base comes from her workshop "La Bartavelle" in Saint-Sorlin-d'Arves in Savoie during the 70s, where she was the most productive, offering ceramics & stoneware of art and utilitarian. Marked by a very popular and rustic style, the works of Suzanne Dauliach are all unique and similar by their speckled enamel, typical of the glazed stoneware with the pyrite aspect of this mid-century period. We very often find as "signature" of the artist flowers, more particularly thistles, as here on the face of the pitcher as well as this "ball" shape! Although little known to the general public, Suzanne Dauliach and her universe are immediately recognizable! She has reappropriated the pyrite stoneware of the 70s and the local styles of her region to make her own artisanal and unique production.
