Antique cache-pot in barbotine (Majolica earthenware) from the late 19th century (Napoleon III period). A highly decorative collector's piece, remarkable for the freshness of its colours and the quality of its reliefs. This cache-pot features an exuberant naturalistic decor in high relief, composed of large textured green leaves and fully bloomed flowers in shades of pink and mauve. The lower part, curved in cornice yellow, rests on a wavy base, while the upper neck offers a scalloped and beautifully pierced collar. The interior is covered with a bright and intense turquoise blue glaze, typical of the finest barbotine productions from the late 19th century (artisan marks crossed under the base). The side handles mimic gnarled branches. Excellent condition for a barbotine of this era. The glaze has retained all its original shine and brilliance. No cracks or chips.
