Le Stelle sofa by Mario Bellini for B&B Italia 1970

Designed by Mario Bellini and produced by B&B Italia in the late 1970s, Le Stelle is one of the most emblematic creations of Italian design from that period, representing the formal and technological research that made the Bellini and B&B Italia partnership famous. The sofa features a fluid and enveloping silhouette, with a load-bearing structure in iron and steel supporting padding in cold-molded polyurethane foam and Dacron® fiber. The original upholstery is elasticized fabric with diagonal stripes in shades of pink and salmon. The original B&B Italia label is still present under the seat. This piece is a collectible example of Italian radical design, perfectly preserved in its original integrity, with only minimal signs of wear. It is ideal as a sculptural and poetic presence in any contemporary environment.
