Chrome space age floor lamp from the 70s with adjustable rod arm

Chrome space age floor lamp from the 1970s with an adjustable cantilever arm, ideal as a statement piece in a modern interior. With its mushroom-shaped chrome-plated metal shade, adjustable arm and counterweight, this is a functional design in which technology and style come together. Although no brand is visible, the shade shows strong similarities to a marked example by Artiforte that was previously part of our collection, supporting a possible attribution. The use of materials and the clever adjustable construction also point in that direction. Little documentation of Artiforte’s production has been preserved, leaving many designs open to question today. Nevertheless, this lamp can convincingly be placed within the tradition of Dutch space age design: clear, technical and visually powerful. The condition of this floor lamp is good, with light signs of use consistent with its age, such as patina and a few small scratches. The wiring has been checked by an electrician, works fully and is technically sound.
