Magnificent large oval serving dish – Cauldon Place Manufacture (Staffordshire, England) Sublime piece of English tableware from the late 19th / early 20th century (circa 1891-1915) made of ironstone / fine earthenware. Very refined country floral decoration in soft tones (pink, yellow, grey/brown shading) with scalloped edges, typical of the Victorian / English Country House style. Dimensions: 📏 39.5 cm in length X 31.8 cm in width (very beautiful large size, perfect as a centrepiece for the table). Weight 1.650 kg. Marks and stamps on the back: Impressed stamp: “CAULDON PLACE / ENGLAND” Hand-painted decoration number in red (H 5245) Potter's / moulding mark (N G) Condition: VERY BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE PATINA (NO BREAKS) NO chips, NO cracks, NO flaking. Shows slight micro-scratches from use in the centre (visible under light, quite normal for its age) as well as a few small original firing imperfections under the glaze (kiln spots, pigment points), authentic testimonies of its Victorian handcrafted production.
