Jug Assisi Italy

This vintage pitcher perfectly illustrates the spirit of Assisi ceramics, recognizable by its white decorations and vividly drawn floral and leafy motifs. The two figures, rendered in black and white, wear clothes enlivened with pink stripes. The background, a blend of fuchsia and magenta, is covered with irregular brushstrokes that reinforce its naive art appearance. The handle is adorned with fine black lines, while the neck and base echo the graphic alternation of black and white. It can easily be imagined as a round vase, ready to hold fresh or dried flowers.
