Superb handcrafted ceramic vase by the French potter Gilbert Méténier, identifiable by his incised signature under the base. The rounded shape with double handles gives it a sculptural presence, while its nuanced glazing reveals remarkable drip work in olive green, celadon, and deep blue tones. Each piece is unique, with variations in shades and materials showcasing true craftsmanship. This type of production is part of the tradition of French art ceramics from the mid-20th century, in the spirit of the workshops of Vallauris and the ceramic revival of the 1950s to 1970s. Dimensions. Height: 21 cm. Width: 19 cm. Very good overall condition. There are slight signs of use and superficial micro-marks visible in low light, without affecting the aesthetics of the piece. No chips or cracks. A strong decorative piece, ideal for enhancing a contemporary, wabi-sabi, or vintage interior. It can be used alone as a sculptural object or to hold dry floral arrangements. An authentic, expressive, and timeless ceramic, perfect for lovers of refined decoration and unique pieces.
