Old large oil on canvas a.horel (albert horel) cathedral of toul. 68x54 cm 26.77x21.25 " Very beautiful oil painting on canvas representing the cathedral of toul. A very nice very bright representation. This painting was exhibited for many years at the galeries lafayette in nancy. Small peculiarity of this canvas, the painter added a wooden cup at the bottom to enlarge it. Albert horel was born on june 25, 1876 in aubevoye he was a pupil of victor prouvé and émile friant. He first worked in lorraine for many years in laître-sous-amance before settling in paris after the war. He first exhibited at the salon de nancy, mainly landscapes and architectural painting, then in paris at the salon des artistes français and at the salon des indépendants from 1909 to 1930. After a stay in morocco, he painted views of these visited cities, paintings classified in orientalist painting. Linked to eugène j.b. Corbin, the latter acquired a number of these works.
