Elegant vase from the Céramique d'Art de Bordeaux (CAB), a French manufacturer renowned for the quality of its creations and glazes during the interwar period. This model no. 4835 is appealing due to its perfectly balanced spherical shape and its remarkable glaze work. The body of the vase features a deep blood-red hue with luminous and subtle reflections, while the top is adorned with a spectacular decoration of greenish-blue and purplish-brown drips, evoking the natural oxidations of copper. These glaze effects, particularly sought after, are characteristic of the experiments conducted within the Bordeaux factory. The piece has a very beautiful decorative presence and perfectly illustrates the late Art Deco aesthetic that has made the Céramique d'Art de Bordeaux famous. The changing shades of the glazes offer different reflections depending on the light, making each example a unique piece. The underside bears the moulded marks "CAB", "France" as well as the model number 4835, attesting to its authenticity.
